Jeg sidder og læser om det på xxxxx, og de skamroser det...
Du må IKKE henvise til forhandlere som sælger kosttilskud.
Lidt for meget måske.. så jeg tænker om der er nogle af jer der har prøvet HMB på egen krop?

Et mere relevant spørgsmål ville være: "Er der videnskabelig belæg for at HMB har en signifikant virkning på noget som helst andet end pengepungen?"

Nogle der har nogen erfrainger med HMB?'

Nope.

Følgende studie udført på trænede individer viser, at HMB ved en daglis dosis på 3 gram per dag (i 6 uger) hverken har nogen påviselig effekt på muskelmasse eller positiv indvirkning på muskelskade.

beta-methylbutyrate (HMB) supplementation does not affect changes in strength or body composition during resistance training in trained men. Int J Sport Nutr Exerc Metab. 2001 Sep;11(3):384-96.

Desuden giver dette review et udemærket overblik over situationen med HMB og dets mulige virkning(er) samt hvor godt stoffets egenskaber er understøttet i litteraturen.

Konklusionen på review'et er følgende:

Collectively, existing results indicate that HMB

supplementation at a dosage of 1.5 to 3 g/day may

enhance gains in strength and lean body mass associated

with resistance training, at least in young,

previously untrained individuals. A mechanism by

which this may occur is unknown, but preliminary

results indicate that there may be a reduction in

skeletal muscle damage, although this has not been

assessed directly. The response of resistance trained

individuals to HMB supplementation is less clear.

While research thus far is encouraging, there is

clearly a need for more tightly controlled, longer

duration studies to verify if HMB enhances strength

and muscular hypertrophy development associated

with resistance training across a range of groups,

including resistance trained individuals.

Jeg har selv prøvet HMB, men ikke tilstrækkelig konsekvent til, at jeg kan udtale mig om dets effekt.
