hej, jeg er en dreng på 16½ år.

jeg styrketræner meget, og før jeg startede på gymnasiet trænede jeg i 5 timer om dagen incl. lørdag og søndag. Jeg har hørt noget om at overdrevet styrketræning kan hæmme væksten, er det rigtigt???

Jeg ved ikke om det er en lidt mærkeligt ide, men da jeg kun er 1.72 høj vil jeg naturligvis meget gerne gro noget mere. Jeg har besluttet mig for at gro mindst 23 cm mere, men kan det lade sig gøre.? Er det muligt at vokse mere, hvis jeg binder mine fødder fast til fodenden af min seng, og mine skuldrer stramt til den anden ende, mens jeg sover, og dermed vokse mere. Jeg har overvejet dette, da jeg tænkte om man kunne "hjælpe knoglerne" lidt på vej. Men jeg er samtidig bange for at få en ustabil knoglestruktur hvis jeg gør det, og hjælper det overhovedet???

5 timer hver dag med høj intensitet kan da vist hæmme væksten ligegyldigt hvad man dyrker for en sport...      Hygge

Så vidt jeg forstod forsinkede høj træningsvolumen hos gymnast piger blot deres udvikling. Så snart de standsede deres træning blev de fuld udviklede/udvoksede, blot forsinket.

Det det eneste jeg har hørt der var negativt, men fuldt ud reversibelt i forhold til vækst/udvikling og træning.

Hvis der er nogen der har nogle relevante studier er jeg meget interesseret :D

Effects of chronic intensive training on androgenic and cortisol profiles in premenarchal female gymnasts.    Jaffre C, Lac G, Benhamou CL, Courteix D.    I.P.R.O.S. - ERIT-M, INSERM unit 0101-CHR Orleans, Hopital Porte Madeleine, BP 2439, 45032 Orleans Cedex 1, France.    The effect of intensive exercise training on urinary androgen and cortisol excretions in prepubertal girls of various ages was tested in competitive premenarchal gymnasts ( n=56) and in age-matched controls ( n=53). Both sexual maturation and bone age were assessed. Urinary excretions of androstenedione, dehydroepiandrosterone sulphate (DHEA-S), testosterone and cortisol were determined by radioimmunoassay procedures. The gymnasts were taller [mean (SD) 138.3 (9.0) cm vs 144.7 (8.3) cm; P<0.001] and lighter [32.0 (6.9) kg vs 36.7 (8.2) kg; P<0.001], and had a lower percentage of fat mass [16.8 (2.2)% vs 22.5 (6.6)%; P<0.0001] than the controls. There was no difference between groups in urinary testosterone, cortisol and DHEA-S levels, while androstenedione levels were significantly lower in gymnasts than in controls [mean (SEM) 187.10 (18.00) nmol/24 h vs 256.50 (15.00) nmol/24 h; P<0.01). There was no difference in the regression slopes between the two groups for all hormonal values. In conclusion, these results suggest that during the prepubertal period, intensive training alters only urinary androstenedione concentrations in girls.    PMID: 12012081 [PubMed - indexed for MEDLINE]

Disse gymnaster var faktisk højere end kontrollerne.. Interessant da høje gymnaster vælges fra, da højden har alt for stor negativ effekt på deres præstation..

Før puberteten skulle det ikke have den store effekt på hormon spejlet.. Folk der har forstand på endikronoligi kunne evt. hjælpe?

The objective of this review is to determine if gymnastics training inhibits growth of females. DATA SOURCES: An extensive research of MedLine (PubMed interface) along with cross-referencing was conducted using the Text and MeSH words "gymnastics" in combination with "growth," "maturation," "body height," "body weight," and "growth plate." Our analysis is limited to English articles only. STUDY SELECTION: All published studies that included data related to the research questions were included. MAIN RESULTS: Although data from three historical cohort studies indicate that female gymnasts are short even before they begin training, clinical reports and cohort studies do suggest that some female gymnasts experience attenuated growth during training followed by catch-up growth during periods of reduced training or retirement. There is conflicting evidence whether the "catch-up" is complete. There were no studies reporting prevalence or incidence of inadequate growth. Three cohort studies provide evidence of reduced growth but training was not partitioned from other confounding factors in the gymnastics environment. Although there is a paucity of studies examining the link of dietary practices with diminished growth in female gymnasts, a review of related dietary literature indicates the potential for insufficient energy and nutrient intake among female gymnasts. CONCLUSIONS: Elite level or heavily involved female gymnasts may experience attenuated growth during their years of training and competition followed by catch-up growth during reduced training schedules or the months following retirement. However, a cause-effect relation between gymnastics training and inadequate growth of females has not been demonstrated.

Siger den at der mulighed for øget vækst efter gymnast karrieren/i træningspauser/skadespauser. Der kan derimod ikke vises sammnhæng imellem Gymnasters træning og manglende kropsvækst.

[email protected]    Growth at puberty depends on one's genetic potential, nutritional status and a series of hormones. Energy expenditure may modify the effects of these three factors on the linear growth rate and the relative proportions of fat-free and fat mass. Participation in sports where weight control is not required does not seem to affect pubertal timing or alter linear growth rate. The growth and maturation of athletes in weight control sports have the additional burden of energy output greater than intake; however, in only a minority the energy deficit is great enough to slow growth and maturation. Studies focusing on male wrestlers and female gymnasts are reviewed. In the wrestlers the hormonal picture is consistent with mild-to-moderate GH resistance and perhaps mild maturational delay, especially in the lower weight classes. The deficits in lean body mass and fat mass "catch-up" quickly following the end of training and competitive season. The situation with the gymnasts is somewhat different, the goal being to develop muscular strength within a shorter and lighter physique. Marked under-nutrition can keep these adolescents pre-pubertal for many years of training and competition. Whether subsequent growth is disproportionate or not remains indeterminate, but the marked delay in the onset of estrogen action can permanently cause the skeleton to be under-mineralized. In conclusion, most athletes continue to track along the centiles of their genetic potential. Selv ved lettere underernærede (i kcal underskud) brydere betyder det kun sjældent i hæmmet vækst, men indhentes hurtigt ved pauser i træningen/kosten.

Hos kvindelige gymnaster kan underernæring (kcal underskud) have en hæmmende effekt på knoglevæksten.

Men de fleste atleter følger gennemsnitelig udviklingsmønstre.

Dvs. det er i højere grad kosten der har en betydning? Æd nok og voks normalt på trods af høj træningsvolumen.. Ser det da ud til..

Height velocity and skeletal maturation in elite female rhythmic gymnasts.    Georgopoulos NA, Markou KB, Theodoropoulou A, Vagenakis GA, Benardot D, Leglise M, Dimopoulos JC, Vagenakis AG.    Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, University of Patras Medical School, University Hospital, Patras, 26500 Greece.    Rhythmic gymnasts performing under conditions of high intensity are exposed to particularly high levels of psychological stress and intense physical training, factors that can contribute to the observed delay in skeletal maturation and pubertal development, and alter optimal growth. The study was conducted in the field, during the International, European, and World Rhythmic Sports Gymnastics Championships of the years 1997-2000, and included 104 elite female rhythmic gymnasts, aged 12-23 yr. The study included height and weight measurements, estimation of body fat and skeletal maturation, and registration of parental height. Height, weight, target height, and predicted adult height were expressed as the SD score of the mean height and weight for age, according to Tanner's standards. Gymnasts were taller and thinner than average for age, with height velocity SD score for each age group above the 50th percentile for all age groups (n = 140, mean = 1.9 +/- 2.5). Interestingly, although height velocity in normal girls comes to an end by the age of 15, in our examined rhythmic gymnasts it continues up to the age of 18. There was a delay of skeletal maturation of 1.8 yr (n = 72, r = 0.730, P < 0.001), compensated by an acceleration of height velocity toward the end of puberty. The final adult height was identical to the estimated predicted height at first evaluation, and significantly higher than the genetically determined target height (n = 35, r = 0.58, P < 0.001), denoting that genetic predisposition to final height is not only achieved, but even exceeded. Using multiple regression analysis, target height was the only independent parameter that has been proven to influence positively the height velocity SD score (b = 0.233, t = 2.215, P = 0.029), denoting that genetic predisposition remains the main driving force for the observed efficient catch up growth. In conclusion, the elite rhythmic gymnasts compensate for their loss of pubertal growth spurt by a late acceleration of linear growth. Despite the delay in skeletal maturation, genetic predisposition of growth is not only preserved, but even exceeded.    Publication Types:  Case Reports  Clinical Trial

Ok så skidt da, der var endnu et studie, der viser en forsinkelse i væksten (knogle), som dog blev indhentet senere og måske endda overgået senere!

Det der er interresant er at jeg ikke kun har taget dem der understøttede min pointe. Jeg tog alle de første der poppede op..

Tankevækkende at det viser sig at et almindeligt anerkendt fænomen ikke eksisterer. Det kunne vel ikke handle om at de gymnaster der klarer sig godt, er dem der ikke bliver for høje. Alle dem der vokser for meget i højden skæres fra og derfor kan denne misforståelse opstå...

Jeg må sq nok bøje mig i støvet så....

Men betyder alt dette så at jeg kunne træne 5 timer om dagen, hvis jeg havde tid/lyst til dette? Og åd igennem af de rigtige ting

Og kunne en ti årig gøre det samme...

Og hvorfor begyndte jeg først at dyrke sport på efterskolen? Så kommer man så hjem til gym, der er fandme ikke alt for meget tid til det, tude tude :( , hvem der bare gik i folkeskole igen, der skulle man ikke lave en skid, og havde fri klokken 13 hver dag...

det var sq tider...

He he, forstår! Da jeg boede hjemme og gik i gymnasiet trænede jeg i et par sammenlagt 30 timer om ugen. Elskede det. Basket, styrke løbetræning.

Men det var ikke optimalt.. Mindre (og bedre!) styrketræning. Mere teknik/mental træning havde været vejen frem. Whatever det var sjau :bigsmile: Mon ikke jeg ville træne lige så meget hvis jeg kunne gøre det om? Det tror jeg nok :tongue:
