DOKUMENTAR

Diet Trials

Sixteen episodes starting on Monday 3 January at 19:00 CET.

Eamonn Holmes presents this documentary series in which 300 clinically obese people are divided into 4 groups, each following a different diet for six months. The four diets tested are the Slimfast Plan, Dr Atkins' New Diet Revolution, Rosemary Conley's Diet & Fitness Plan, and Weightwatchers' Pure Points Programme.

A fifth group try cognitive behavioural therapy, which seeks to recognise and change bad habits, rather than just cutting down on food or fat.

With a dietician and scientist on hand to monitor progress, we see how these different approaches work for the participants. How will the dieters face the many challenges ahead - and which diet will get the best results?

In Diet Trials: Where Are They Now? (26th and 27th January), we get to find out – when Eamonn Holmes catches up with some of the participants of Diet Trials, to see how they got on after the programmes ended. Did they go back to old habits – or have they made real changes in their lives? Was the six months of hardship worthwhile, and how do they feel now about their bodies, their lives, and their food?
