Sødestoffet aspartam, hvis handelsnavn er NutraSweet, består af to proteinbestanddele, såkaldte aminosyrer, nemlig asparaginsyre og phenylalanin bundet sammen med methanol ved hjælp af en esterbinding. Selve sødestoffet forekommer ikke naturligt, men de to aminosyrer er naturlige stoffer, der findes i proteinerne i vores kost, f.eks. i ost, frugt og grøntsager, kornprodukter, kød, fisk og æg. I naturen optræder de altid sammen med andre aminosyrer. Når de isoleres fra de andre aminosyrer og sættes sammen, giver de en sød smag......

We all know that water is important but you've never seen it written down like this before.

WATER

1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half world population.)

2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.

3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.

4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.

8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

Origins:  Many of the entries above are just simple household tips involving Coca-Cola, as provided by Joey Greenin his 1995 book Polish Your Furniture with Panty Hose and on his web site. That you can cook and clean with Coke is relatively meaningless from a safety standpoint — you can use a wide array of common household substances (including water) for the same purposes; that fact alone doesn't necessarily make them dangerous to ingest. Nearly all carbonated soft drinks contain carbonic acid, which is moderately useful for tasks such as removing stains and dissolving rust deposits (although plain soda water is much better for some of these purposes than Coca-Cola or other soft drinks, as it doesn't leave a sticky sugar residue behind). Carbonic acid is relatively weak, however, and people have been drinking carbonated water for many years with no detrimental effects.

The rest of the claims offered here are specious. Coca-Cola does contain small amounts of citric acid and phosphoric acid; however, all the insinuations about the dangers these acids might pose to people who drink Coca-Cola ignore a simple concept familiar to any first-year chemistry student: concentration. Coca-Cola contains less citric acid than orange juice does, and the concentration of phosphoric acid in Coke is far too small (a mere 11 to 13 grams per gallon of syrup, or about 0.20 to 0.30 per cent of the total formula) to dissolve a steak, a tooth, or a nail overnight. (Much of the item will dissolve eventually, but after a day or two you'll still have most of the tooth, a whole nail, and one very soggy t-bone.)

Besides, the gastric acid in your stomach is much stronger than any of the acids in Coca-Cola, so the Coca-Cola is harmless.

The next time you're stopped by a highway patrolman, try asking him if he's ever scrubbed blood stains off a highway with Coca-Cola (or anything else). If you're lucky, by the time he stops laughing he'll have forgotten about the citation he was going to give you.

Hmm ja, direkte sundt at fylde sig med tilsætningsstoffer, er det nok ikke...men ikke desto mindre føler jeg mig faktisk ret afhængig af sødetabletter, papsi max osv...-jeg tror altså sagtens, man kan få et afhængighedsforhold til skidtet. Jeg må dog indrømme at hvis der en sjælden gang har været en dag, hvor jeg virkelig bare har fået hældt meget aspartam indenbords, så kan jeg føle mig lidt dårligt tilpas, lidt kvalme-agtig...om det er samvittigheden, skal jeg dog ikke kunne sige :wink::tongue:

Var inde på natur-drogeriets hjemmeside og så dér nyheden om cyklamat og DNA skade. Slog op på pubmed og fandt en del artikler ang. stoffet "2-Cyclohexene-1-one" som må være et nedbrydningsprodukt fra cyklamat. Denne artikel beskriver at stoffet et celle-toksisk og skader DNA'et. Den siger dog også at stoffet findes naturligt i tropisk frugt. Jeg synes den er interessant idet jeg ofte hører det helt fejet af vejen at aspartam, cyklamat osv. ikke er skadelige overhovedet. Studiet kan dog ikke bruges til at vise at cyklamat 100% sikkert er skadeligt i mennesker idet det er lavet in vitro, og jeg har ingen anelse om de mængder 2-Cyclohexene-1-one brugt i studiet er alt for høje ift. de mængder der er i blodet efter normal indtagelse af cyklamat.

Jeg er begyndt at spise/drikke meget sødemiddel, jeg drikker en del cola light og spiser cirka en halv liter fromage frais med sødemiddel blandet i om dagen. Fordi jeg indtager så meget af det, vil jeg gerne høre om det kan være skadeligt i de mængder? Nogen der har hørt om nogen bivirkninger eller andet?

Jeg bruger også meget sødemiddel for at undgå alt det sukker man indtager. Jeg bruger Stevia som er et natursødemiddel, når je kan. det kan selvfølgelig ikke lade sig gøre i sodavand, men det jeg selv søder kommer jeg stevia i . Jeg har købt det på nettet på www.steviadanmark.com men der er flere der sælger der. Jeg vil også helst undgå de kemiske sødemidler da jeg ikke tror de er sunde i større mængder.

Hej,

Jeg læste en artikel på et tidspunkt, som postulerede at det største problem ved indtagelse af light produkter var, at man vænnede kroppen til at få den "søde" smag ind i munden. Man bliver med andre ord "afhængig" af søde sager. Dette er ikke det store problem, hvis vi antager at sødemidler ikke er giftige.

Men afhængigheden af søde sager i munden, gør samtidig en mere tilbøjelig til at spise slik, chokolade osv.

Artiklen mente altså, at der var den side-effekt ved sødemidler, at man ubevidst fik mere lyst til søde sager og så den vej igennem fik en sukkerindtag. Jeg kan ikke på stående fod huske hvor jeg læste det henne, men husker det som, at artiklen var forholdsvis troværdig.

1. STEVIA:

Thomas 97. Du nævner Stevia. Jeg har skrevet en ny tråd om dette. Den hedder " Stevia/steviosid - nyt naturligt sødestof - (EU-godkendelse)". Linket er http://www.motion-online.dk/fora/index.php?showtopic=58485

Så kan man altid diskutere, hvor ny stevia/steviosid er. Man har nemlig kunnet købe det gennem længere tid. Men der er noget med, at EU har godkendt - eller er ved at gøre det - et eller andet om stevia.

2. UBALANCE I KROPPEN:

Der har været snak om, om et eller flere sødestoffer kan forstyrre en eller flere balancer i kroppen. Måske kan de forstyrre sultbalancen og derved medvirke til begyndende fedme. Men dette afhænger måske af MÅDEN, at man bruger sødestoffer på. (Se punkt 4).

Personligt vil jeg ikke blive overrasket over, hvis et eller flere sødestoffer kan medvirke til overvægt hos flere personer.

3. SKELNEN MELLEM DE FORSKELLIGE SØDESTOFFER:

Når vi snakker om , at sødestoffer måske kan forstyrre nogle balancer i kroppen, er vi nødt til at skelne mellem de forskellige typer af sødestoffer. Vi kan indele fødestoffer på flere måder.

En inddeling er de naturlige og de kunstige sødestoffer.

En anden inddeling, som jeg synes er meget vigtig, er de ikke-energigivende og de energigivende sødestoffer. Måske giver de ikke-energigivende stoffer en type ubalancer i kroppen, mens de energi-givende giver nogle andre ubalancer. Hvem ved?

Måske " snyder" de ikke-energigivende stoffer, så kroppen bliver sulten hos visse personer. Kroppen får jo ikke det sukker, som disse stoffer har lagt op til. Så hos en lille eller større del af befolkningen, vil en sukkerfri Cola Zero måske få kroppen til at hungre efter mad/drikke med eller uden meget sukker i.

4. MÅDEN AT BRUGE STOFFERNE PÅ:

Som jeg har været ind på i det overstående, kan det at tage ikke-energi-givende sødestof uden noget andet måske medføre, at kroppen føler sig snydt m.h.t. sukker. Så det kan være at en sukkerfri "Light"-vare altid bør suppleres med en lille smule sukker. Det kan jo medføre, at kroppen ikke føler sig snydt m.h.t. sukker.

Så måden at spise mad/drikke med (ikke-energigivende) sødestoffer på kan være at sørge for at få lidt sukker samtidig.

Derfor vil jeg godt gøre opmærksom på den kombisødede sodavand, hvor 50 % af sodavanden er kunstigt sødet og 50 % er sødet med almindelig sukker. Den indeholder således 50 % mindre sukker end en almindelig sukkersødet sodavand. MÅske er den sodavand mindre fedende en almindelig sukkersødet sodavand og end kunstigt sødet, sukkerfri sodavand hos visse personer, dersom de drikker meget sodavand. Det kunne være spændende at undersøge. Den kombisødede sodavand indeholder jo lidt sukker. Derved snydes kroppen ikke på samme måde, som hvis man drak en sukkerfri "Light"-sodavand .Jeg har dog droppet håbet om at denne kombisødede sodavand kommer på markedet foreløbig.

Det var sgu da dejligt at vi lige fik bumpet en 6 år gammel tråd.

Debatten om sødestoffer er ikke død. For nylig har DR2's programserie Fedt, Fup og Flæskesteg sat spørgsmålstegn ved brugen af lightprodukter.

Jeg har set udsendelsen, men har enormt svært ved at vurdere lødigheden af de påstande, der kommer, især dem, der vedrører at appetitreguleringen påvirkes selv ved ét glas light sodavand om dagen.
