Chins ups til nakken, som nok nærmere må hedde pullups behind the neck, er mindst ligeså hårdt for skulderen. Alle øvelser som forgår bag nakken har et potentiale for at indeklemme rotator manchetten og give skader. Det er dog ikke alle som får gener af disse øvelser.
