Et kedeligt modul tidligere på dagen udviklede sig til en mindre spekulation omkring min træning.

Læste mig frem til at man i WSB varierer volumen - igennem en cyklus - frem for for at gøre brug af deloads. Men hvordan bør jeg bedst muligt planlægge min progression i min volumen, for at undgå at overreache?

Min træning har ikke relevans til styrkeløft og jeg maxer derfor heller ikke ud med singles - hvis det skulle have noget at sige.

Nu er det vidt forskeligt, hvordan man i WSB gør brug af deload. Nogle bruger en form for wave på volumen som du er inde på. Andre kører med decideret deload. Men kører du ikke DeFrancos WS4SB? Og har han ikke en generel anbefaling ved det program?

Yes, we have deloading weeks with my WS4SB program. They are not predetermined, though. The deload depends on the athlete that we are training. Some athletes can handle a ton of volume, others cannot. Genetics, nutritional habits, sleep patterns, time of year, etc. all play a role. I also don't like making "hard rules" on deload weeks because I like to go by how the athlete feels. Let's say I want the athlete to have a deload week after an intense 3-week cycle, but he enters the gym feeling great and fired up to train that day? If he feels great, I want him to get after it! On the other hand, an athlete may feel like crap one day because he didn't get any sleep, he may have had a tough day at practice, etc; If we were supposed to have a big max-effort day on the bench, I may omit the max-effort exercise and start with 3X10 Incline DB bench, as well as cut down on the accessory exercises. In short, we go a lot on "feel" at my facility. Myself and the other trainers are fortunate in that we know all of our athletes very well and our program has much variety built into it for this reason.

Hopefully this makes sense.

Deload weeks are not planned ahead of time into our high school athlete's cycles. This is because some kids may miss a week because of games, practices or school/detention, etc. You never know. On the other hand, some kids are freaks and could progress for many weeks before they need a deload week. We know our athletes very well and incorporate deload weeks on an individual basis.

Dvs. at han åbenbart gør brug af deloads når det er behov for det. Så er der vel ikke andet for end at deloade når fremgangen så småt begynder at stagnere?

Du bør jo nok deloade før, at du begynder at stagnere. Om du så gør det på feel eller feks efter 6 tunge uger må du jo vurdere.

Så bliver det nok bare generelt efter seks uger. Det bliver nok for svært at vurdere hvornår jeg begynder at overreache og hvornår jeg ikke gør - så tak for hjælpen. :xmas:

Men det kommer vel også helt an på hvorvidt jeg ligger i kalorieoverskud og er loadet på kreatin eller ej.
