Squatfather

jfk
Erik Rasmussen har også løftet 252,5-182,5-235-670Friday, November 12, 2004 – Capetown, South Africa Kutcher and Shlyakhta of the Ukraine Win! – Lead their team into showdown with Russia for the World Team Title. The third day of the 34th IPF World Powerlifting Championships in Capetown, South Africa witnessed some absolutely [incredible] lifting by Alexander Kutcher (82.5kg weight class) and Shlyakhta (90kg class) of the Ukraine with each winning their classes respectively. Alexander Kutcher of the Ukraine, last year’s silver medalist in the 75kg class, defeated Victor Furazhkin in a stunning upset to win the 82.5kg class. Teammate Shlyakhta pulled his final deadlift of the competition with 355kg, to defeat multi-time world champion Andrey Tarasenko of Russia, and also broke his existing world record total. Amazingly, Shlyakhta also broke Dr. Fred Hatfield’s twenty-four year old squat record with 375.5kg on a third attempt, and attempted to break Walter Thomas’s world record in the deadlift on a 4th attempt but was unsuccessful. With two days remaining, Russia maintains the lead in the team scoring over Poland, Chinese Taipei, the Ukraine, and the United States of America.
